The Manning Winter Festival committee (pictured above) is proud to announce the call for nominations for the 2016 Visual and Performing Arts Awards. Do you know someone who should be acknowledged for their outstanding contribution to the arts? Nominations are now open for nominating an individual who, or an organisation that, has made a significant contribution to the Visual & Performing Arts of the Manning Valley.
The MWF Committee after meeting at the Manning Regional Arts Gallery today would also like to invite members of our community to nominate suitable candidates for consideration for appointment as the 2016 MWF Ambassador[s].
Nominations are open to people 16 years or over, whether they are individuals, couples or groups. Nominees must be a resident or former resident of the Greater Taree local government area, agree to their names being submitted for consideration, and have connections in the area in at least one field of cultural endeavour, including all visual and performing art forms and other creative initiatives.
The Manning Winter Festival & Art Awards is held every two years to celebrate and highlight the vast range of artistic talent and creative industry in the Manning Valley. “We urge everyone to get involved and make the 2016 festival the best ever,” said committee president, Mave Richardson.
Nominations must be received by Friday 22 April 2016. An independent panel of judges will be appointed by the Manning Winter Festival committee. The awards will be presented on Friday 3 June at the Manning Regional Art Gallery, where the new festival Ambassador will also be announced. This is a great opportunity to celebrate community creativity and honour those who have made an outstanding contribution to the Arts. All nominees will be invited to this function as a guest of the Manning Winter Festival. Tickets will also be on sale prior to the event.
